From the Greek term “nouthesia”. Based on Romans 15:14 “I myself feel confident about you, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and able to instruct [counsel], one another.
Our counseling approach involves five (5) steps:
1. Determinative Profiling – Basically data gathering, examination, and assessment of each individual and the couple.
2. Comparative Silhouetting – A process stemming from Step 1 above; determining an outline of the individual and or couple’s past and present state of being and complimenting that over/against Biblical standards.
3. Redemptive Confrontation – Helps to explain and possibly demonstrate how the couple’s present state of being may be the result of failure/success following God’s Word. It may serve to point out future expectations as a consequence of obeying or disobeying God’s Word.
4. Individual Commitment – Brings the individual or couple face to face with the need to commit themselves to follow the Biblical protocols for healing, spiritual rest, and individual wholeness.
5. Personal Conditioning – Here we assist the individual/couple by initially putting into practice the Biblical standards for healing, spiritual rest, personal wholeness, and confirming through verification, this initial process.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: A theological study of the first five books of the Bible. The course covers the doctrine and nature of creation, the nature of sin and redemption, the importance of holiness, and the Abrahamic covenant with the people of Israel.
OBJECTIVE: Understand the need for God’s direct intervention in human history – human sin: to show how God acts in the lives of his people.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: A condensed theological study of the Book of Daniel. The course covers Daniel and his friends in Babylon (Chapters 1-6) and Daniel’s visions (Chapters 7-12).
OBJECTIVE: Understand how God is not just Lord of heaven but that he’s closely involved in the lives of his people. God is the righteous Judge of kings, nations, and history. God rules over history and the future is known to him and he is intimately working out his plans. Jesus is the Son of Man sent by God. Daniel is the first to speak clearly about the hope of resurrection.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: A condensed theological study of the Book of Revelation. The course covers interpretation of the book through its literal, historical, and prophetic layering as it applies to the church.
OBJECTIVE: Through the systematic use of the Word in its heritage of culture, we purpose to see the fulfillment of prophesy as outlined by God. We will focus on the Daniel timeline as showing correlation to Revelation. Themes of the Antichrist, Tribulation, Rapture, Millennial Reign, among others, will be the main topics of discussion.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: A practical approach for the minister of the gospel regarding Christian living in the church, the home, and the world. The course offers guidance and orientation on a spiritual and functional level providing the student perspectives on keeping the doctrine uncorrupted. Our focus will be on false teachings, public worship, and the role of men and women in the conduct of these affairs. We will consider conditions of eligibility for pastors, elders and deacons, local leadership roles for young leaders, the role of the church in social action, and a biblical approach to material wealth.
OBJECTIVE: Increase the knowledge base of the church leader in the diverse tasks of church management.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: A condensed theological study of the Holy Spirit. The course covers the nature, gifts, and ministries of the Holy Spirit with a focus on the Hebraic roots.
OBJECTIVE: Understand God’s gift of the Holy Spirit, define the gifts, the ministry functions, and reveal their operations as it applies to the body of Christ today. You should be able to answer any questions about spiritual gifts. You should be able to put spiritual gifts to work in your spiritual life as well as the local congregation where you worship. You will learn to exercise your gifting with great wisdom to please God and edify the body of Christ.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: A condensed theological study of the Old and New Testament. A study for the establishment of the priesthood in the family based on biblical principles. The class covers from Genesis to Revelation in twelve (12) modules comprised of one (1) hour minimum per module. Emphasis is placed on culture, history, interpretation, prophecy, redemption, and restoration of humanity.
OBJECTIVE: Through the use of The Word in its cultural heritage, history, geography, archaeology, and audio-visual aids, we intend to see God's purpose for the family as the cornerstone of humanity. We will also explore the consequences of disobedience, the plan of redemption, the mission of Jesus, and the restoration of creation.
Every believer who wants to work for Christ needs training. He/she must have acquired through teaching and training his/her responsibility towards his/her family and community. 1 Timothy 3:7 states that it is a matter of personal integrity because “he must have the respect of people who are not in the church so he will not be criticized by others…”
Finally, those who observe the discipline by being taught in the home can help people. Titus 1:9 “by using true teaching…they can show those who are against the true teaching, that they are wrong”.
The question here is, why?
Verse 11 gives us the answer stating that, “these people (those who are against true teaching) must be stopped because they are upsetting whole (healthy) families by teaching things they should not teach because they are… (using their teachings) …getting rich by cheating people”.
The family needs to restore its spiritual relationship with Christ. Families need discipleship, mentoring, coaching, fellowship, communion with other families, and house churches.
Acts 2: 46“And continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their meat with gladness and singleness of heart…”
Acts 16:34 “And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house”.
Acts 18:8 “And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, with all his house. And many of the Corinthians, hearing, believed and were baptized”.
You need to make the Joshua decision! Joshua knew that change in his people would come by example through commitment.
Joshua 24:15 And if it seems evil unto you to serve Jehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.
Educate your family to know God’s plan throughout the ages. Teach them His Word in a spiritually comprehensive, illustrative and practical day to day application.
Acts 5:42 “And daily in the temple and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ”.
Acts 16:32 “And they spoke unto him the Word of the Lord, and to all who were in his house.” Acts 20:20 “and how I kept back nothing that was profitable for you, but have shown you and have taught you publicly and from house to house…”
